Prayer Request

Below is a few transactions that have been going on with my 9 year old son. I take this deadly serious and need tremendous wisdom, timing and the power of God’s mighty hand. So if you would, please pray.

Yesterday from my wife:

“Pray with me please! I teach the God of the Bible to my children as my obedience to the Lord. I do not coerce or push my children in making a decision for or against but I do ask them to learn and be be respectful of what it means to be a Christian. Today my (very not ready) boy came to me and said with ‘tongue in cheek’ he wants to become a Christian and that he has prayed to the Lord and will wait on him. Today at lunch he actually wanted to say a prayer too. Then tonight when I got home from bible study group he asked me if I would pray with him before bed ( We don’t usually because he said before he didn’t care to, it was uncomfortable and he wasn’t a professing Christian.) When I went to his room he showed me in his bible the scriptures he had been reading and where it says God made everything and he was the only God. He said God answers everything in the bible and (he was excited) he had learned all this from reading his bible! (He acted like it was the first time he has read his bible )When we prayed HE got on his knees at his bedside! Please help me pray that the Holy Spirit will awaken or continue to awaken his spirit. What a blessing it would be to a mum to actually witness her son in the process of a saving relationship with the Living God. Would you help me petition the Lord for what could actually be happening now!?”

This afternoon from my son:

I received a text from my 9 yr old son (via my wife’s phone) this afternoon saying, “This is Isaac I want to be a Christian help please.” Not sure fully what the Lord is doing with him and its reality, but pray for him and for me to have full wisdom of God in this matter. Here is some of what we have been experiencing as of the last 24 hours.

Whether or not this is a true move of God’s hand we will see. I have prayed for many years that my children would be used of God (in the future), vessels of honor, to carry His name and walk in godliness. Oh that none of my children would walk down the sinful paths I have been; I would give both my arms and legs that they never, never, never go down the lust-filled, arrogant, prideful and anger paths that I have traveled.

Please pray!

For those of you in the northern Oklahoma and southeastern Kansas area, we are starting Saturday evening prayer meetings tomorrow (Jan 10th) at 7 pm. They will be held at the Grace Community Church in Bartlesville, OK.

Blessings all!

Jeremy

  1. Dear Brother Jeremy,

I have just received and read you email. I assure you of my (with my wife) prayers. Some years ago, our son Tim at about the save age, went through similar experience. We took it as truly the work of God the Holy Spirit. He professed faith and later baptized. He certainly has gone through many challenges (just like the rest of us) but still walks with the Lord.
    Our prayers Brethren.

  2. Jeremy, I will be praying for your son for this revelation of salvation to work in his spirit. The fact that you not only teach the word, Jeremy, by you LIVE It, tells me that your children see and know more than you realize about Christ. God is with you. I know he is going to do great things through you.

  4. Tender mercy and loving care to Isaac. What a privilege when your son ask
to pray with him in becoming a Christian. Repent, ask forgiveness, believe in the redemptive work of Christ. It is the Holy Spirit who draws us to Jesus.

    1. Amen Max, amen. We are still awaiting to see the realities of what we believe the Lord is doing. He has shown some differences, but he himself does not yet believe he is saved. I am fine that he is honest with this and we will continue to pray and do what we can without giving any false assurances.

      Blessings bro,

  5. Kind greetings Jeremy as you wait on the Lord.

My youngest son prayed to receive Christ 13 years ago. He was 12 years of age at that time. The Spirit of God was dealing with him about a real relationship with Him through Christ. He had been raised under the authority of God’s word and had strong conviction that he was a sinner and in dire need of Christ’s redemptive work.

On one (first) occasion my son called me to his room and told me that he wanted to trust in Christ. I told him to tell the Lord how he felt about his sin and we prayed.

About two week later he called me to his room and told me that he was not sure if Christ had heard his cry. I assured him that Christ knew his heart, so he poured out his heart to the Lord again.

It was a week or so later and he called me to his room again. He told me that he did not have the assurance that Christ had heard his prayer and reached down to him in mercy. As he prayed for a third time I wept as he cried unto the Lord. In the silence of my heart I asked the Lord to confirm to him in his heart that He (Jesus) had heard my son’s prayer so he would have the assurance of redemption.

He never called me to come to his room again and to this day (he is now 25 years old) he is serving the Lord. He has grown in the admonition of the Lord and His word. He is more mature in the word than most people that have being going to church for 50+ years.

God has no trouble knowing the heart of our sons and has no trouble bringing them to the cross. He is still there waiting to redeem. He is God. Everyone that calleth upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. He can not lie…. I am praying that God will assure him.

Our assurance (and our sons) in Christ
